2025

  • A former president of SSEMWG, Mihoko Suzuki has demonstrated extraordinary "depth and breadth" in "her work on early modern women and gender." Her “scholarship is rich and impeccable,” and she has  “made a genuine difference in the study of early women's writing and gender studies" throughout her career.

  • Margaret Ferguson "has published prolifically in the field of women and literature." In addition, she has demonstrated “intellectual brilliance in the classroom," “dedication to her students’ success both academically and personally,” and “compassion and wisdom” cultivating  “a new generation of scholars in the area of women and gender studies in the early modern period.”

Mihoko and Margaret will be recognized at the SSEMWG plenary lecture at RSA in San Francisco and celebrated more thoroughly at the online annual member meeting in spring 2025.
